Faces Set In Stone

Image
We stopped by this small cliff face for a coffee break on one of the walks we did on holiday and I was struck by how many faces I could see in the rock face. In particular I swear I can see three dwarves, complete with hoods and full beards!

Holiday!

Well we have returned from our summer hols and I can honestly say it was a most relaxing 2 weeks! The tent withstood the small amount of wind and rain thrown at it and the rest of the time we had sun and did plenty of lovely walks through the amazing area of Ardnamurchan, west of Fort William. Here are some of my holiday snaps!

Simply Because It Is A Great Tune!

By the way does anyone know how this is played? I cannot find it with the usual chords and am thinking capo or tuning?

The Kindness of Strangers

I have been blessed with knowing lots of kind people in my life, and having a wonderful family, but I have also been blessed with the kindness of strangers. I never underestimate a kind gesture from a stranger, it is a rare but priceless gift. Today has been not such a good day, I do remind myself they can't all be good, but today I have have had two strangers stop, notice and spare a kind word. The action lifted my spirits. Thank you to those concerned, your action meant more to me than you will perhaps ever know.

Lonely is a Man Without Love

I have had this fabulous song in my head for a day and wanted to post the version from the film 'Romance and Cigarettes'. An excellent if not slightly odd film!

Living With Fear

Image
I once read that you should do some thing that scares you every day, well it might have been every week, but the point was scare yourself on a regular basis. The theory is that by facing your fears you become less fearful of life and realise your full potential. I do not achieve anything like that frequency however I have held onto that thought and do try and push myself and my safe boundaries. (I have just looked up Scare Yourself Everyday on the quotations page and it would seem that Eleanor Roosevelt said it, amongst other people.) Many of us spend a lot of time trying to create the safest environment for ourselves and our families that we can, and rightly so, however no matter how safe we try and make ourselves life will throw a spanner in the works and we can suddenly find ourselves facing fearful situations that we maybe could have been better prepared for personally. On the other hand some may argue that it is only when faced with extraordinary events that we realise our true

Beacon Hill Wood Fair

Image
Mr Dancin and I visited Beacon Hill Wood Fair at the weekend with Mr Dancin's parents. It was a great day. I took lots of pictures to blog as there were so many amazing wood crafts there. We could have spent lots of money on everything from candle holders to furniture to log cabins! Anyway here are some of my images starting with a magnificent Golden Eagle. I have to say I hate to see the birds in captivity and on perches but felt privileged to be able to see this fabulous bird up close. We are going to another fair this weekend with my family and I look forward to another very enjoyable day out.
