Too Much To Say!

I have so many cool things going on in my life at the moment and so much to do! I have been itching to come here and blog for days but really do not know where to start! Anyway for now here's a picture I took of Niagara Falls on my birthday, top birthday treat! More to come!

Happy Birthday John Lennon

I have been visiting over with Scottish Nature Boy and have learned that it would have been John Lennons 70th birthday today. In tribute Scotty has posted the most amazing You Tube clip of a Ukulele tribute to the Beatles and John Lennon which I very strongly recommend you go and check out HERE . The first thing that struck me as I listened to it was just how many amazing songs they/ he wrote, how can there be that many beautiful melodies and harmonies in the world? The second thing was just how simple but effective the songs are, when you see the chords being played. I am not saying they are easy songs to play or write, it is their very simplicity that is their genius. So, do yourself a favour and pop over for a listen . It will be a few minutes very well spent.

All Pigs Fed & Ready To Fly

I love that saying. A few years ago there was an advert with flying pigs in it and it was brilliant. In fact...here it is! You gotta love You Tube! Pleas take a moment to watch the Pigs Flying Video, it is brilliant! I also really like this one, not so clever but it really makes me smile. Anyway, I did not come here to post adverts! I came to report that all PC issues now seem to be fixed! I have my work laptop and can connect to my wireless connection upstairs which is great as I can set up some office space and have a quite place to go and work. I have also got Skype set up on this and the home PC so I can make video calls to Mr Dancin when I am away for work for free! The laptop has a built in web cam which is very handy and we bought a web cam for the PC for £25. And, when Mr Dancin is taking an afternoon nap, as he is now, I can come upstairs, grab my laptop and blog away!!! I have a friend visiting from Greece at the moment and she is on Skype too so when she goes back t...

Happy Birthday Sri Lanka

Image
This is the Bing picture of the day, they are stilt fishermen in Sri Lanka. Apparently it was 38 years ago today that Ceylon changed its name to Sri Lanka and became a republic. Happy Birthday Sri Lanka, you are the same age as me! My maternal Grandmother was from Sri Lanka which makes me part Sri Lankan too, something I have always been proud of.

Garden Party

It is my fellas birthday on Tuesday however as we have four days off for the Easter Bank Holiday I asked him if he wanted to start celebrating early and he chose today to be his 'un-official' birthday. We have therefore planned four days of birthday spoils including todays event of purchasing and digging in a pond! The weather has been kind and the rain kept at bay until the last half hour. As such we have a shiny new pond with plants in situ! We put a small pond in a couple of years back using a liner and our resident frogs moved straight in, the new one is bigger and we can't wait for them to venture over and take a dip. We currently have three frogs, that we know of, and one newt. When we put the first pond in they were in the water before we had finished tidying away so I don't expect it will take long. They may have to fight for space with the dogs though! Roxy is a water baby and I have no doubt will give it a go at some point.

Tanks

Image
For Mr Dancin's birthday last year I got him a tank driving experience. He was in the army as a young man and worked on tanks as a gun fitter. He did used to get to drive them but it was just to move them in and out of the hanger areas. Well he got the trip booked in and yesterday we went out in the mud and rain, as hoped for, and he got to drive a Chieftain Tank , the Abbot self propelled gun , an armoured personnel carrier and Quad Bikes. There was also excellent provision made for spectators and I got to have a ride on all of the same vehicles except the quad bikes. It was a wonderful day, my lasting memories of which will be Mr Dancin and everyone else around me grinning like idiots, and copious amounts of mud!

January, February, I don't understand....

Image
Blimey! It's mid February already! It always amazes me how quickly the beginning of the year goes although I do feel like I have achieved a lot this year which is good. I also turned 38! Its nice to be back in even numbers, I prefer them to odd ones for some unknown reason. The picture opposite is one of my birthday gifts from my Mum and Dad. This beautiful mirror now takes pride of place in our living room. There are a couple of lovely ladies who work in our local garage in the mornings. I often fill up there are we have quick chat and a laugh. Well I was talking to one of them before Christmas and she told me that for her 18th birthday she was asked by her family what she wanted and she said a gilt frame mirror for her house. They bought her one and she has always had it in her living room. She then told me that she treasured it so because in the years that have passed since she was given it everyone she loved in her life has looked in it to straighten their hair, or hat or just...

A Day of Note

Today is my Mum's birthday, just, it began 4 minutes ago actually! At this moment my Mum and Dad are preparing to travel back from holiday. I hope to be delivering presents and celebrating with my Mum on Sunday but in the meantime here is a little something to say... Happy Birthday Mum! Out of the blue

Image
It was my fella's birthday last weekend and we woke to a snow covered village. We usually wake early these days and I am glad we do as it had all but gone by 10am. I frequently find that the beginning of the day is the most beautiful and also can be when the nicest weather occurs! My paternal Grandmother was an early riser and I like to think it is a trait I have acquired from her. My maternal Grandmother shared my fella's birthday. She unfortunately passed away the year before last. I did not know her as well as my paternal Grandmother, a fact I have regret about. My maternal Grandmother was always lovely to me however we saw less of eachother than we should, which has something to do with geographical location. I do however greatly regret not being a better Grand-daughter and not taking the time to get to know her better. I think of her often, and remember her birthday shared with my lovely man.

Birthday Treats

Image
It is my birthday this week and we had planned to go out for a meal and then to the flicks to see Sweeney Todd with Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter however, just as the plans had been finalised my partner told me that the England football team were playing that night, and for extra umph it is their first game under our new coach Fabio Capello! We are therefore going to watch the football down our local instead! Now please don't get me wrong this is my choice and not a rant post about men and football. We always watch football together and more importantly we never miss an England game. It just made me laugh that we had spent a while planning a night out which was then totally irrelevant as the footballs on! I am curious about the new coach. I do not support the idea of a non English coach however, he has been appointed and therefore it is my duty as a fan to support him. He has probably made some early enemies by leaving David Beckham out of the squad for this game, therefore...
