I grabbed this shot one day on our camping trip. The buzzard was a regular visitor to the field and had just delighted me with a close fly over. He hovered over my head for ages and I allowed myself the pleasure of just watching before I decided it was worth a mad dash for my camera and a quick lens change. My big lens takes better shots from the tripod as the small movements of my hand and breathing make for blurred images but I was pleased to be able to get this anyway. I found out yesterday that Joni over at My Piece of Heaven has closed her blog. She runs a farm with her husband and also works as a medical transcriber. Apparently Joni is increasing her hours at work and she has decided that with the extra work and the farm to run she won't be able to fit blogging in, at least not to the standard that she wishes to. It's a funny thing this virtual socialising, connections are made between people. There are a few blogs that I visit that really mean a lot to me, I get a great deal of joy out of visiting them and corresponding with the author. They may not k...

I decided after much deliberation to utilise the film the theme title is taken from and have produced this. Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My. The Wizard of Oz was a very significant film in my childhood and my sister and I watched it every year, often from behind a pillow. I don't know if anyone remembers but a few years ago they used the Wicked Witch of the West in a series of adverts and she still scares me! So I decided to let myself get lost in remembering the film and all of the images and feelings that came to mind. The line 'lions and tigers and bears oh my' kept popping into my head and as such this piece was born. I imagine anyone would feel they were no longer in quiet and comfortable surroundings if they walked into a wooded glade and...
