Illusive Slumber

Oh illusive slumber how I long for your caress. To sooth me in this darkest hour, to lead me to my rest Where weightless in your bosom I am moved to meditate, the agonies and ecstasies unconscious thought creates My waking mind torments me, and time in malice slows. A captive of reality, deprived of my repose Oh illusive slumber, grant your blessing, hear my plea. Release me from this tortured state, and set my psyche free

Highland Calf

Now before I start my explanation I must confess that I did not take this picture, this was taken by Michael MacGregor , I just bought the card! We saw many highland cattle while in Scotland, and several youngsters however, they were very popular with tourists. There were several people just going over and standing next to them and loads of people taking pictures. In light of this I didn't want to bother them further and just enjoyed looking from the path or road. However, I wanted a picture to show to Joni at My Piece of Heaven. Joni and her husband live on a farm and she regularly posts beautiful photographs of their livestock and the multitude of other wildlife that inhabit their region. So from one wildlife lover to another check out this calf! For those of you that may not be familiar with the breed, here is the grown up version! Not so cuddly now eh! (Image Credit EdinPhoto .) Actually they are but you really wouldn't want to upset one with horns like that! Ok I am not go

Greetings all! I have been camping and walking in Scotland for two glorious weeks and have loads of photos to prove it. (Just over 400.) We visited the Isle of Skye this year, an island we have not been to before, and spent our time travelling around the island and exploring. We are planning a sort of review of Skye to provide photos and details of our trip for friends and family which I will post later however in the meantime I cannot resist sharing one picture. This was taken on day 3 halfway up one of the peaks of The Cuillins accessible from Sligachan . We are no rock climbers so our excursions are restricted to areas that can be walked and scrambled without ropes and harnesses however the views afforded, weather permitting, are just breathtaking, and the challenge is similar. We reached the summit of 641m (a mere baby in mountain terms!) after a 3 hour walk. The cloud closed in on us at this point so photographs from the top were.......well pointless but we were given an occasiona

Greetings. It has been a difficult time for many people I know recently; there has been grief and concern for loved ones and friends. I have found blogging difficult during such a time however I have taken peace in a couple of early morning walks and the world at it's most beautiful. I wish to share my moments of peace with all of my loved ones and friends. My love and thoughts are ever with them. And lastly there is new life. Welcome Aran 3rd August 2007. The sun was shining on the day you were born. I hope you enjoy the pictures. Oaks in silhouette An early harvest Dawns breath
