Autumn Walk

Image
I have just been for a glorious walk up the lane. The trees are really turning now, the sun is out, there is not a cloud in the sky and its cool and windy, perfect!  These are the best of the shots I took and typically when the oaks really started shedding their leaves into the air above my head my camera battery went flat! Never the less I enjoyed the spectacle.

The colour of harmony, balance, and growth...

According to colour psychology green is the colour of harmony and balance, growth and hope. I am aware of the power of colour and how it can be used to encourage certain reactions from people and situations although I seldom use it to its full advantage and prefer to rely on my instincts for colour preference however it is a useful tool to have and I have absolutely no doubt of the benefits of looking at the colour green. It represents our natural environment, the start of the growing season, new life and new food resources. And there are no greens, or other colours, so vibrant as the ones created in nature; we simply cannot replicate that. Winter is fast approaching and although I don't begrudge it at all, especially having had the longest summer, I do know I will miss the colour green. It will be there throughout the winter, with a whole host of other colours, but it will be a little harder to find. Autumn and winter can be a challenge and I know many people suffer f...

Am I Allowed To Mention Christmas Yet?

Image
We have recently returned from our summer holiday into instant Autumn but I have found that I don't really mind that much. We have had such a lovely long summer, and a great holiday, that I am actually ready for the change in the season and am even starting to get excited about Christmas! I do not talk about it too much at home as Mr Dancin does not like to get into things until mid December but as for myself I am enjoying planning gifts and even the preparations in the shops are not bothering me too much. I do think that we get into it a little too early in the UK but I am happy to be taking small steps to the festive season! However between then and now there's lots of other stuff to keep me busy. We are going to see Porcupine Tree in a couple of weeks, and then Nick Harper in November. Yeah!

Let The Sunshine

Well I am loving this weather! I actually spend at least 2 days of the week in doors but have a lovely window seat and keep the windows open so I get the bird song. All week out and about in this would probably be too much anyway as it is quite hot but it is so nice to see so much sun! I have a working area upstairs which as soon as I get my laptop from work will become my office and again it has a lovely window and will give me a bit more piece and quiet. It also means that if Mr Dancin is about we can both do what we need to and not get in each others way. Anyway, it is time to venture out with the pups for now! The Day Begins

Image
Well my weekend has started really well! Roxy made her entrance to our room at 7.00am which is quite a respectable time for her, it varies between 5.45am and 8.30am! The sound of the door opening is enough to wake me which gives me about 4 seconds to prepare myself for a lick across the face! Hiding doesn't help as her nose will seek you out! Buddy brings up the rear but is not a face licker, although he did lick the very tip of my nose for the first time the other day. My first dog Pink used to do that and I always thought it was a very sweet and delicate gesture. Roxy likes the full on swipe of the tongue! Buddy and Roxy used to live with a family with small children. I can imagine and have surmised given Roxy's love of being cuddled that she was cuddled a lot by the kids. We noticed when we got them though that in contrast to Roxy's love of a big hug Buddy did not like to be cuddled. I don't know whether the children tried to treat him in the same way and put him off...

Forever Autumn

I woke up to autumn this morning. The last few days have been wet and cooler but this morning had a very autumn feel. Anyway this beautiful song popped into my head and some clever soul on you tube has added these lovely shots to the track for a slide-show so I thought I would share it.
