Remember, Remember
English Folk Verse (c.1870) - The Fifth of November Remember, remember! The fifth of November, The Gunpowder treason and plot; I know of no reason Why the Gunpowder treason Should ever be forgot! That's the only portion of this poem I have known up until now, however this year I came across the rest which I have to say I am not in complete agreeance with. Guy Fawkes and his companions Did the scheme contrive, To blow the King and Parliament All up alive. Threescore barrels, laid below, To prove old England's overthrow. But, by God's providence, him they catch, With a dark lantern, lighting a match! A stick and a stake...
Interesting contrast in windows and distortion of reality!
ReplyDeleteHey dancin, I hadn't been on here for so long I'd forgotten the password!!!
ReplyDeleteI really must do some postings, lots of stuff has happened already this year...it's just putting aside the time.
Glad to see you are posting interesting and informative posts as always, Ive really enjoyed reading them.
By the way I have changed the name of my blog as there's someone else calling themselves T-bone travis and I didn't want to be associated with them.
Couldn't think what to call it and as I was listening to Dylans "one more cup of Coffee before I go" that became the title....for now!!
Anyway hope you are well.
Big love
M
Thank you Margaret!
