Going Camping!


We are off camping this weekend. Probably not to Scotland (which is where I took this shot) as it is a little too far for a weekend visit but never the less we will find somewhere glorious I am sure.

The dogs are excited. Obviously we have told them we are going but I think it was when the tent appeared that they really got the message!

It's lovely to have three whole days to get away. Autumn feels like it is taking hold here and this is kind of the last summer trip before the nights draw in and I have to dig out my winter coat. Not that it really gets that cold in the UK anymore.

Right well I had better get cracking! Have a fabulous weekend everyone, whatever you get upto!

I grabbed this shot one day on our camping trip. The buzzard was a regular visitor to the field and had just delighted me with a close fly over. He hovered over my head for ages and I allowed myself the pleasure of just watching before I decided it was worth a mad dash for my camera and a quick lens change. My big lens takes better shots from the tripod as the small movements of my hand and breathing make for blurred images but I was pleased to be able to get this anyway. I found out yesterday that Joni over at My Piece of Heaven has closed her blog. She runs a farm with her husband and also works as a medical transcriber. Apparently Joni is increasing her hours at work and she has decided that with the extra work and the farm to run she won't be able to fit blogging in, at least not to the standard that she wishes to. I completely understand but I am sad that I won't be able to visit her blog anymore. Joni posted everyday and displayed amazing photos of the beautiful and varied wildlife in her part of the world, including her new puppy Cooper! I am really happy that things are going well for Joni but I am sorry that I did not get a chance to tell her how much I valued her and her blog before she went. It's a funny thing this virtual socialising, connections are made between people.
