One, One Thoasand, Two, One Thoasand.....

My fella and I helped out at a fund raising event today for a local play group. We launched 50 teddy bears off the church roof, all sporting parachutes!

As tree folk we have harnesses and ropes which were needed to access the roof.

The event went really well and we had a beautiful day for it. All in all £80 was raised from this one event!

Here are some of the hero's of the day. (No teddy's were harmed during the event!)

    These are so fun! I bet that was such a great experience. I hope you don't mind (if you do, please tell me!) but I "stole" the photo of the purple teddy falling into the flowers...won't post it anywhere, just for me (my favorite color).

    Hey Bud! It was a great afternoon and such fun. The kids loved it and the parents chilled out in the glorious sunshine!

    It's a shame we could not parachute down at the end to finish it off!

I grabbed this shot one day on our camping trip. The buzzard was a regular visitor to the field and had just delighted me with a close fly over. He hovered over my head for ages and I allowed myself the pleasure of just watching before I decided it was worth a mad dash for my camera and a quick lens change. My big lens takes better shots from the tripod as the small movements of my hand and breathing make for blurred images but I was pleased to be able to get this anyway. I found out yesterday that Joni over at My Piece of Heaven has closed her blog. She runs a farm with her husband and also works as a medical transcriber. Apparently Joni is increasing her hours at work and she has decided that with the extra work and the farm to run she won't be able to fit blogging in, at least not to the standard that she wishes to. I completely understand but I am sad that I won't be able to visit her blog anymore. Joni posted everyday and displayed amazing photos of the beautiful and varied wildlife in her part of the world, including her new puppy Cooper! I am really happy that things are going well for Joni but I am sorry that I did not get a chance to tell her how much I valued her and her blog before she went. It's a funny thing this virtual socialising, connections are made between people.
