I have found a Vogon Poetry Generator, have a go here ! This is my Vogon Poem. See, see the sweetness sky Marvel at its big scarlet depths. Tell me, bob do you Wonder why the human ignores you? Why its foobly stare makes you feel dissappointed. I can tell you, it is Worried by your mergelfuntbarblery facial growth That looks like A cheese. What's more, it knows Your bum potting shed Smells of frog. Everything under the big sweetness sky Asks why, why do you even bother? You only charm poos.

I am a big Star Trek fan. I used to watch the original as a child my my family but as an adult really got into The Next Generation, second time round! Brent Spiner, pictured here, played Lieutenant Commander Data for those who don't know. He was an android, void of emotion, who strived to become more human. The role gave way for a weekly analysis by Data of the human being, in an attempt to understand humanity, and I found this to be very thought provoking. At the same time the character attempted to replicate the behaviour he leaned, and lived by a code of conduct programmed in by his humanoid creator, Dr Nunian Sung.(Also played by Brent Spiner). Ok, for those of you nodding off I am not going to tell you anymore about Star Trek, but I am going to show you some of Data's poetry! It's much better then Vogon Poetry really! (But please follow the Vogon link, there is a Vogon poetry creator tool there that looks like good fun!) I give you - 'Ode to Spot' by Lieutena...

Greetings. Having gone on about how many posts I had planned over a week ago I have found myself.... un-bloggy! Anyway, thankfully my very good friend has stepped in and saved the day with some wonderful words I thought deserved a bigger airing. So I give you a few words from T-Bone. (SEE COMMENT 5 FROM LAST POST .) Went for the kind that were mellow and sweet And the world's sweetest eggs are the eggs of the Kweet Which is due to those very sweet trout which they eat And those trout ... well, they're sweet 'cause they only eat Blogs And Blogs, after all, are the world's sweetest frogs And the reason they're sweet is, whenever they lunch It's always the world's sweetest bees that they munch And the reason no bees can be sweeter than these... They only eat blossoms off Beezlenut Trees And those Beezlenut Blossoms are sweeter than sweet And that's why I nabbed several eggs from the Kweet.

Item: 1 BWO – Blogging Without Obligation I came across this item via Mac’s Niece at Caged Minutes . The principle has been described wonderfully by the author of the original item and architect of the concept so I will leave further explanations to Tiffini Elektra X , and my thanks to Mac’s Niece for a wonderful find. ' After coming across what seemed to be the 4000th or so post on someone's blog starting with "I'm sorry I haven't posted in awhile." I decided it is time to rethink what makes a good blog and the expectations that have come to be part of it. I am thinking that no one shouldutter those words again . . .and with that thought I give you Blogging Without Obligation. If you feel the same way feel free to grab the logo, make a logo or whatever you would like to do! I release all the logos, thoughts and words mentioned here about this concept into the public domain. Take the idea and run with it. . .or walk away. It is all good. Because you shouldn...
The Age of Steam

My family and I recently enjoyed a day out aboard a steam train in celebration of my parents Ruby Wedding Anniversary. It was a wonderful experience and quite amazing how much improved travel by rail was under these circumstances. I like traveling by train anyway but the sounds and smells were amazing. In addition we had a car to ourselves and were able to get up and wander down the passageway, looking and leaning out of the windows. (A warning, soot does come out with the steam so sunglasses are recommended and keep your lips tightly shut! Obviously we were in no rush to get anywhere in particular however the relaxed pace of the journey was wonderful and very romantic. Following our trip my father has been editing some photos he took to wonderful effect and I asked him if he would mind me posting them on my blog as they came out so well. I think that they capture the era beautifully. I therefore give full image credit to my Dad!

Item 1: Planetary Revelations - Jupiter Jupiter is the 5 th planet from the sun and the largest planet in our solar system. Its' diameter is 142,600 km, that's 11 times the diameter of the earth. Were Jupiter hollow you could fit over 1000 earth size planets inside! My point in emphasising the size aspect is, in the words of the late, great Douglas Adams: 'Space is big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mind- bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's just peanuts to space.' And much of what's in space is also.......big! While we are on the subject of Douglas Adams here is a bit of trivia for you that I found amusing. Douglas Adams chose 42 as the Ultimate Answer of Life, the Universe, and Everything simply because he thought it was the funniest-sounding of all two-digit numbers. " A completely ordinary number, a number not just divisible by two but also six and seven. In fa...

Greetings. Regular visitors to In The Pink will notice that once again the weekly six has been absent for some time. I have to say that although it is a posting I greatly enjoy I often find myself short of the time required to complete it. So my apologies for the delay; here for now is Part 1 of this weeks six items! Item 1: Artist of the Week M.C.Escher Maurits Cornelis Escher, usually referred to as M.C. Escher, was born in the Netherlands in 1898. Nicknamed Mauk in his early life, he attended the Haarlem School of Architecture and Decorative Arts and studied under Samuel Jessurun de Mesquita , who he remained friends with for many years. Escher had a unique approach to art, able to produce detailed compositions from memory and utilising his excellent mathematical skill to generate 'impossible' pictures such as, Relativity (1953 Lithograph). Many of my family members have been charmed by Eschers' unique ability and Mac's Niece has a lovely piece framed in her stair ...

Only In Dreams. Come my love and comfort me, for my heart is weighted deprived of you I exist, with soul un-satiated Within each day a wonder of this world's revealed in splendour yet wonderment is lessened with no means to share the venture Though I believe in independent being, you have given the joy of companionship, altruistically driven And mine is now to walk alone, until when reunited we share again each moment blessed, and recall all we've sighted So this my plea, come comfort me, for the wait is laboured and if I reach your image in sleep, each aspect will be savoured.
