Favourite Spot

Well I am delighted to report that the frogs seem to have settled.

We are now seeing them moving all around the garden and also sitting beside the pond, no doubt catching flies.

At first they disappeared when we first moved them into the new pond and I worried however I expect they were just settling and learning to trust their new environment.

We can now see them sitting on various stones around the pond throughout the day and evening.

This little chap has claimed this rock as his own!

We have watched them moving around and getting in and out of the pond with no trouble.

We have also noticed we have acquired a water snail who can be seen travelling across the surface munching all in its path.

He must have come with one of the new plants we bought. He is too small for a photo at the moment but we will see how big he gets!

  1. That is an awesome frog (toad?) I haven't seen one like that before around here. Ours are bullfrogs that are quite green, darker when it is cold out, and they make the most awesome low bass "rhhrrh" sound. Yours is so cute, like he's got his little chin on the rock. I have a problem with Tuffy trying to get the frogs and I keep working with him to leave them alone! Your pond flowers are so pretty.
Re: Imogen Heap, I searched You Tube for "Jeff Beck with Imogen Heap" and the Live at Ronnie (?) something-something's came up and the one I liked was "Rolling and Tumbling". Searched Godsmack and their biggie is Voodoo ... lots of versions. Hide and Seek by Imi and Headlock are a couple I like. Also Bad Body Double. So...happy Wednesday soon...this weekend is a holiday here (Memorial Day) and I can hardly wait for my 4-day wkend (I took an extra day off-whee!)

  3. I've always wondered if humans could actually move frogs or if they would take themselves back to where they came from. Looks like you can!

  4. Hey Kyle! We call him a frog but to be honest I do not know and he may even be a she! I was thinking the other day I always assume all frogs I meet are male but I always assume every spider I meet is female!!

Thankfully the dogs are not interested in frogs, other than to sniff them!!

We had one appear in the kitchen a while back and the dogs got there first, gave it a good sniff, and then looked at us for guidance!

Have a fab long weekend bud. Its a bank holiday here so a three day weekend for us too. Bye for now xxx

  5. Hey Bowledover! I will send you a snap of the whole pond. Thanks in advance for the second batch of frogbit, they loved the last lot and used to pop out from under a leaf!

    Happy weekend to you too!

  6. Hey EG, well they did have little choice as we closed up shop on the original small pond but as there was no water in the garden when we moved in, although there were frogs here, hopefully they fell better off!

  8. Hey LF! Thanks for your visit. We are getting so much enjoyment out of the pond. At the weekend we had a storm and all of the frogs came out and met up with other frogs in the garden! It was mad!

    Garden nature is brilliant.

I am afraid that and the next weekend have gone since you commented! But there will be another one along in just 4.5 days!

Have a great week and by for now!
