What About the ROUS's?

Well I have made my decision...sort of! My current book is now on hold and I have started another one! I have loads of great books to read at the moment and am starting with one of my all time favourite stories, that to date I have only enjoyed in movie form, The Princess Bride.

'What about the ROUS's?'

'Rodents of unusual size? I don't think they exist.'

I can no longer remember who first introduced me to this film although I have a suspicion it was one of my family members who I have to thank for many excellent movie and music introductions.

'Is this a kissing book?'

So I am now enjoying the classic tale of true love and high adventure care of William Goldman, who as it turns out is responsible for an interesting collection of books, plays and screen plays, including surprisingly enough the screen play to Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

'Hello. My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die.'

Actually I don't really need to read it as I have seen it so many times the script is committed to memory along with each wonderful image but I am going to anyway!

'We face each other as God intended. Sportsmanlike. No tricks, no weapons, skill against skill alone.'

'You mean, you'll put down your rock and I'll put down my sword, and we'll try and kill each other like civilized people?'

Anyway before I give too much away if you have not seen this film or read the book I cannot recommend it strongly enough!

And the thought that you might not enjoy it? 'Inconceivable!'

  1. Hi Dancin!! I haven't been on in quite awhile since it was difficult to maneuver on your blog. It seems to go much faster now so I'll be visiting routinely again. I've missed you!
Yes! I love Princess Bride, but only saw the movie (probably more times than I've ever seen any other movie, not being one to rewatch too many). It is just so great.
Re: the rhubarb ... looks like it is going to seed and I would be wary before you use anything except the stalk fruit. I do believe that is the only edible part of the plant and the rest can be quite toxic. Check it out, though.
And didn't know you had a new job until I read an older post just now! Hope that is going great! I had a little thrill today ... one of the doctors I work for took me to lunch with his wife and little daughter. It was Indian food buffet and little Olivia was so entertaining and funny. A first for this job!
So ... good to visit you again and hope you are having a wonderful life! Pats for the pups!
    Love,
    SisSTAR Kyle xo

  3. Hey Bud! I am so glad you are not having problems with my blog but if it reoccurs please say I was going to change the template back to save you the problem. There's no point having a blog that my blogging bud cannot view!

It really is an awesome film isn't it? They got it spot on. The book is brilliant but I am pleased to report so far that they have captured the best of the book in the film.

My Rhubarb is definately flowering but I am not going to touch the flower spike, thanks for the tip, I will look into that. I have never seen a Rhubarb flower before but perhaps people cut the flower spikes off as it takes so much energy from the plant, it is huge! I still have enough Rhubarb for another two crumbles anyway!

My new job is going great thank you and is so much more flexible! Its all a little scary the moving on thing but sometimes you have to make yourself accept a change for the better. I will keep you posted.

Glad you liked the Torn video, he is such a clever chap isn't he? Thank goodness for You Tube. Speaking of which I have just had a glorious hour watching old videos of ABBA, what an amazing band they were.

That's lovely that one of the doctors took you out. It never hurts to show your colleagues how much you value them but sadly not many bosses do it. Sometimes even a bit of verbal praise and acknowledgement can mean so very much.

Well bud for now have the most amazing weekend. Bye for now! xx
