Creative Tuesdays #1 - Little Red Riding Hood or Snow White

This is my first submission for Creative Tuesdays, the theme being Little Red Riding Hood or Snow White. I decided to join as I really liked the brief for the scheme and thought it would be a great way to get my hand back in at art as it has been some years since I have done anything regularly.

As always when starting again what the brain conceives the hand often struggles to re-produce however I am quite pleased with my first efforts which have culminated in this and am looking forward to seeing what other participants have come up with. (Image drawn with oil and soft pastels,  and a black pen for outline.)

  1. Very nice interpretation, very symbolic. It's nice how you made Red Riding hood so much larger than the wolf, not as scary!

  2. Thank you Christine, I also find Red more scary than the wolf in this.

  3. Of course, i love the red as it invokes passion and stands out so well against the background. I also love the simplicity of this piece. It's simplicity and that glow as well as the height of the horizon line implies a rather Rudolph Steiner type mythos to it. LOVE that. Well, I don't know your real name but am sooo glad you joined us to help keep this co-op going along and getting word out there. Thank you. This was a good prompt for you to join in. So glad you did and welcome to Creative Tuesdays. Thank you for adding the name and link back to the prompt too! Perfect. Hope we see you again here. Great addition. Well done!

  4. I like the abstract-like this looks, and the red is perfect as the figure could be snow white or the queen. lovely entry for your first CT theme.

  14. Thanks Lady Fi and thank you Al. You should have a go, I haven't drawn for ages as I didn't think I was good enough but someone said to me just have a play, everyone has an artistic output, don't compare with others just get some pens or paints and allow yourself to get messy. :0)
