A Song for Sunday

This is one of my favourite Roy Harper songs and a song I always associate with the weekend, in particular Sunday mornings. Sundays, after the dog walk, we tend to put some music on, potter about making breakfast and then sit chatting for a while.

We often do some gardening and then I usually make an afternoon cooked meal, sometimes a roast. Sundays - slow and easy.

Its quite long and has been posted in two parts!

What is your Sunday routine?

  1. Thanks for your kind comments - for the record, Roy Harper is one of England's gretaest unsung musical geniuses and your favourite track is one of his best (and I say that as a Scotsman)! Although he doesn't know it, Roy has kept me company for many a happy hour. SNB

  2. Hey SNB. I couldn't agree more, we have seen him several times. I have never understood why he does not get more airtime and praise, similarly with his son Nick (have you checked out any of Nick's albums?).

We go and see Nick at least once a year, he tends to tour more than Roy now!

The only theory I can come up with is that because they have both written some political songs they have been banished from mainstream radio and conversation. Everyone seems to know who Roy Harper is, and many Nick Harper too, but no one plays them.

    Their biggest loss!
